I went there twice ... and last one was two week before. It's a historical place ... beautiful infrastructure.

It was good to see the place. Booked car will be convenient for the tourists otherwise can face transportation problem.

'Sonargaon' was the old capital of Dhaka. It was a historic administrative and commercial center in Bengal. The area is located near the modern industrial river port f Narayanganj in Bangladesh. There is a museum built by Mr. Joinal Abedin. Can visit for short outing.

This was the capital of Bangladesh during mugal dynasty. This place still have a old palace and a museum. This place also famous for historic jamdani shari. There is small jamdani market to sell shari to customer.

It makes a nice outing from busy Dhaka. But this beautiful place needs serious attention from the authorities. There are no guides, information boards etc. People just talk of folklores and legends, there should be some official/ authentic version about its history or significance. But in any case, worth a visit for the architectural remains.

Can spend whole day with family. Lots of spaces for the kids to play. Foods not good, better to have foods in thana sadar. Thats must be a cheap and enjoyable family time.

I was not with very high level of impression before visiting sonargaon(panam city).I thought that place would be a just few old buildings with a typical museum.but things were different from my thought. sonargaon was basically a city which was established by independent rulers(baro bhuians).they daclared the place as the capital of their independent sovereignty.people who were well off in... A fascinating place with buildings dating back over 600 years, previously an important bengal city; Panam. Effectively a Main Street full of brick built buildings of all sizes, the larger ones would have been very regal and impressive in their day. Unfortunately, the whole place is fast becoming a ruin and I am surprised that with its historical significance it... More

Too much crowded, as other places in Dhaka. Would recommend to travel to this place only on Friday, as quite away from city and other days most of the time will be spent in travelling. Good for group of friends to chill out.
