The Hussaini Dalan was originally built during the later half of the Mughal rule in Dhaka. It was built as the Imambara or house of the imam of the Shia community.

Hoseni Dalan is located at the Nazim Uddin Road in the old part of the Dhaka city. According to history, it was built as a Shia Shrine during 17th century, known as the Imambara of the Shia community. This is a nice complex with an attractively built arched gateway. The main building is situated in the middle of the complex. There is a pond beside the mosque. The interior of the mosque is full of historic Islamic decoration. If you like to visit there, you should approach through the Doyel Chattar, a landmark near the Dhaka University as it is very near from the Doyel Chattar. In my view, it is the best and easiest way to visit there.

Attractive, friendly, uncrowded, with clean grounds and a little graveyard. Read up on the two branches of Islam before you go and you will find it very interesting It's more strikingly decorated inside than outside. For Dhaka it's a four-star attraction. No problems with women going in, walking around, and taking pictures. I already had my head covered so I don't know whether it's required or not.

Built under declining Mughal rule, this is actually an Imabara. Nice Architecture and the place feels peaceful

More imposing inside than we expected and women are made welcome. We were fortunate to have a local guide and he went into great detail with history of the mosque of the imortance to the Shia community. The interior is full of historic Islamic decoration and there is a picturesque lake to the rear, well with a visit.

The Hussaini Dalan is known as the prayer hall for the Shia Muslims in Bangladesh. It was originally built during the Subedari of Prince Shah Shuja (1639–1647 and 1652–1660), son of Mughal emperor Shah Jahan. It was then built as the Imambara or house of the imam (religious leader) of the Shia community. It is around 5 minutes walk from the Chan Khar Pool junction. Place is uncrowded with clean grounds. During the first 10 days of Muharram, Hussaini Dalan becomes a centre of mourning and religious gathering in old Dhaka. It is worth visiting during those time of Muharram. In the south of the building, there is a nice pond touching the walls of the building. This pond is the main attraction of this complex.

Hoseni Dalan {Building of the followers of Imam Hossain (R)} is known as the prayer hall for the Shia Muslims in Bangladesh. It is located near the bustling area of Chan Khar Pool. It is just a 5 minutes walk from the Chan Khar Pool junction. Apart from the prayer hall, there is a nice pond in the back of the Masjid and the whole building bears history.
