Tours of modern architecture in Cambodia.

Our various tours focus on buildings erected after Cambodia's independence in 1953, a style described as 'New Khmer Architecture', while setting these within the historical context of Phnom Penh.

Regular tours take place on the second and fourth weekend of each month, guided by Cambodian architects and students. Custom tours can be arranged and can be given in Khmer, French or Chinese upon request.

We did a private Central Phnom Penh by Cyclo Tour on our first full day in Phnom Penh and it was a great introduction to the city - we were taken to places we would never have gone on our own, and our guide gave us a great commentary on what we were looking at. She explained to us the... More

The tour we took with Kagna gave us a real insight into Phnom Penh's architecture and history. We saw places we never would have found or seen otherwise. Travel by cyclo was quite an experience. Added bonus is that tours promote the preservation of heritage buildings and provide employment for cyclo operators.

We took a private three hour tour of Phnom Penh by cyclo. Our guide was really knowledgeable about architecture, both colonial and modern, and enthusiastic about the subject. We were able to look inside some apartment buildings and back alley ways and learn about the history of buildings, city and culture and how people live today. Tour ran smoothly and... More

A very interesting tour, with a very committed guide. Miss Kagna took us to the University site, then to to 100 houses projects and finally to the huge sports complex. We went from site to site on a tuk-tuk (very safe). She was very knowledgeable and happy to share her knowledge. We learned a lot and this was the most... More

Recent architecture graduate, Kagna, picked us up from our hotel with cyclos....how cool. Poor driver who got the short straw (88kg male compared with his much lighter wife had the decency to only flinch. We saw significant buildings that were part of the French colonial period of the city's development. During the three hours, Kagna took us into places we... More

We took the cyclo tour today and it captures the history of the city through the stories associated with the buildings. We saw the "before" photos and now what stands in its place. The lovely young architect took us inside many buildings we would not have otherwise seen: we value what has been kept so we hope that more of... More

This was the first full day activity after landing in Phnom Penh. We were all glad for the introduction to the city with our guide and the tour of Central Phnom Penh. We got a feel for the layout of central Phnom Penh and were led through areas of the city where real people live, work, pray, eat, etc., and... More

This first-rate tour focused on the French district and area surrounding the main post office near the river. Our guide Kagna, a personable, well-spoken architect who knew her subject cold, gave us a great historical overview of the area before walking us through several of the buildings. She was going to take us to the historic art-Deco Central Market, but... More

I did with my mom a tour which was called "Four Religions of Phnom Penh" and run by the Khmer Architecture Tours. It was really so interesting. Our guide Virak gave us a lot of interesting information and we visited a lot of interesting old buildings related with the religion. We got to see this amazing buildings which are in... More

My husband and I were given an architecture tour in Phnom Penh as a Christmas present. Just the two of us with one architecture graduate, who spoke excellent English and took us round the architectural highlights of the capital from the 1960s and 1970s. And answered all the questions we bombarded him with, giving us new insights into both the... More
