Must see in Phnom Penh. Easy to see. I recommend walking around this area. See it during the day with bustling traffic but don't forget to stop by at night when it is all lit up!

It's better to come here at night for a selfie or portrait with the monument (during daytime it is too hot to do that). We realised no one is up the stairs so came down half way as a sign of respect. It also serves as the key indicator while exploring the city so you know which direction you are... More

We were shown this by our tuk-tuk driver. He stopped there and walked with us, telling us the whole history. Amazing.

Situated on a busy roundabout, an impressive monument. It is likely that you will see it on the way to/from the airport as it is on a main route into the city center

We visited this monument just as the sun was setting. It looked absolutely stunning at dusk, highly recommended as it close to a couple of other tourist attractions, the previous kings statue and the prime ministers house that can all be visited at the same time

Free to visit and worth including as part of a tuk tuk tour of the city, the freedom monument is in a strip of statues and greenery.
