Humungous

The design is big, everything and everyone looks tiny, ant like. No locally designed architecture was a bummer. Poor place to visit. Poor experience.

Curious enough to visit, and was glad that I did.

Well, the shape of the building is a pyramid, but it has a concert hall inside, and one can take a guided tour through the exhibits, and eventually get to the top of the pyramid, where there is a meeting for top dignitaries, including the Kazakh president, where one can sit in the chair. Admission is 1000 KZT, which is reasonable.

Definitely worth a visit

Beautiful building and, when I visited, had no line and no other visitors. Be sure to go to the top floor, where you can sit on the President’s chair.

I went there twice and closed both days. Told to come back in 3 days time on the 19th. I have read it is worth a visit but not sure how to find out when it is open.

Beautiful place.

Went here with my partner. Beautiful place. She has been to Kazakhstan before but I never have. There was a Kazakh woman who gave us a tour. She spoke perfect English. The Palace is beautiful. Glad I went.

Palace of Peace & Reconciliation - Astana

A monumental Pyramid shaped building built and completed in 2006 to commemorate the Meeting of Congress of Leaders worldwide and traditional religions. They meet every three years around a round table near the top of the building.
A nice guided tour by a pleasant hostess and also a very green garden near the top.
This building represents the Spirit of Kazakhstan, has a great Opera hall accomodating about 1500 people a library and also displays of gifts given by various worldwide delegates attending the conference.
A must see fascinating building where the rooftop glass shows etchings of
Doves from the inside and is fully airconditioned.

OK ... but from a distance
Apr. 2019 • Family
The city has many interesting and nice places. Unfortunately, this Palace is certainly not one of them. The building is interesting from a distance but a lot of problems are seen at closer look. For example, sidewalks are slowly falling apart. It's a problem to find the entrance and when you find it, it is closed :)

Known as the Pyramid

There are many photos of Peace and Reconciliation meetings; all men except one woman in one photo; there was a business meeting (paid commercial use) going on when I was there, so couldn't see everything; gift shop was closed. Didn't seem especially peaceful or reconciliatory, but perhaps when the world religions for peace meetings take place that is improved.
