It is a spot which indicates that all the distances from Bishkek are measured from here. The monument showing this is on the ground in a park. It's just an interesting thing to see in downtown.

The Zero kilometer marker is a popular landmark in most major towns. It is the marker where all distances are measured from. It is usually found near to the Central Post Office or Main Administration Building. This marker is south of Oak Park, and a few minutes walk from Ala Too Square, which is the Central Square. It is comprised of a four pointed star with the cardinal points, and a Zero in Gold in the middle of it. The marker was installed in 2009, and is a popular place for tourists to take photos.
The Kurmanjan Datka statue is nearby on the same path, with the northern tip of the star pointing in this direction. There are many benches to relax nearby, and beautiful flower gardens. Other nearby attractions are Ala Too Square and the Suimenkul Chokmorov statue. The marker is accessible 24 hours daily, and may be viewed for free.
