This is a very big site nice to visit with many buildings and sculptures. Very popular for the population this temple is well located and easy to visit. Many good things to photography.

Hi, this a very photogenic location, it all has some active temple buildings around, which are also greAt to see. A hidden bonus is the shops at the back of the stupa see souvenirs at bargain prices

That Luang is the most important buddhist temple - or stupa - in Laos. Actually, it's not a temple; there's one next door. That Luang is a MUST to visit in Laos. Best light in the afternoon. Also, at night, it's illuminated. 10.000 kip

While I do not want to offend the people of Laos it seemed to me just a large gold painted piece of masonry with no real architectural value. The temples and monuments around it were far more interesting.

They are trying to complete the renovation by 12-14 November which is the date of the That Luang festival.
