Get the number 14 bus from the station just around the corner from the main bus station. Just get on and you buy your tickets during the journey. It cost 6000K (about 60p at time of writing) each way and takes about an hour. Not...More

Smallish park, about 30 minutes from the city. The park includes many large to huge statues of Budda in various poses and types. Also included a steep tower to climb and a large onion-shaped building to explore. This would be very interesting for older chldren....More

I have been to the Buddha Park quite a few times and it is always a pleasure as it combines a kitchy concrete buddhist architecture with a lovely natural flora with huge trees and extravagant plants. For westerners it is a nice introduction to Buddhism...More

It's nice to walk around for an hour and you can take a few awesome pics if you are a little creative. I would recommend NOT taking a booked tour because it was literally only the transport for us. I think you can get there...More

Buddha Park is located a little out of the city, but can be easily reached by bus (you can get this from the bus station in town) for 6000 kip a journey. Unfortunately it started raining when my friend and I got there and it...More

This is like visiting a museum, temple and park all at the same time. Wonderful outdoor scenery, beautiful trees, interesting and historic sculptures, an intriguing building you can enter and climb in with VERY one-of-a-kind sculptures of the Buddhist characters and events. Very relaxing and...More

A little outside the city, so transport needed but worth while to wander around seeing the various Buddha images including one large reclining Buddha. It's not really historic as it's all new(ish) but certainly a nice place to visit and escape the hustle and bustle...More

First time I saw it I was puzzled what this actually was, a bunch of concrete statues, for example one with just a head with arms. Too weird to think it's real. Essential visiting? Not really but as I was cycling from Vientiane south to...More

Since there is not much to see in the city, we ended up going to the Buddha park, it is a good place to visit if you have nothing to do, not a must see but not bad either.

It is about a 40 minute car ride outside of the city. It isn't very big so you can see everything in a short time but you will want to stay longer. So many awesome statues to see. Very well maintained.

Since u r in Vientiane another extra day will be more relaxing. Going around Vientiane in a motorcycle is more convenient but for me renting a bicycle is good enough for me. Going to Buddha Park by bus is just as easy. Take... More
