Well a mystery as far as we could ascertain. Nobody quite knows what this is about we were told. Beautifully moss covered and green when we were there and a bit of a curiosity.

Walked around and found a place to eat. If you like geocaching, here is an easy find. There is nothing special to see, it looks like Laotian people are not interested to show this part of history.

An obviously very old Stupa in the middle of a side road – the small surrounding gardens are neatly kept – we were passing at the end of the road so we had a look - another victim of the Thai sacking of the city...More

It looks like the oldest structure in Vientiane so it is worth a drive by look on your way to some where else. Apparently there is a 7 headed somethingorather there so beware! Cheers, Zac.

Its free, you can walk to it - there's nothing much to see but its a quiet little spot and if you are lucky there's a good coffee cart that is sometimes there. There's something about the lack of "bling" that makes it more appealing.

Nothing much to see. A lot of cars park around the Black Stupa. It is poor of cleanness. You can see this Stupa when travelling around the city of Vientiane.

Not much to see. A tower in the middle of a roundabout. No history explained, not well maintened. You can just pass by on the way to other attractions.

We were walking back from Patuxai to the city center, made a little detour and found this Stupa near the American Embassy. Something nice but not a must, if you missed it in Vientiane, it's ok.

Not an amazing landmark but worth a look when passing by. This stupa was apparently once covered in gold but that all got stolen a long time ago. Now it's covered in grass / moss so it seems. Lots of cars parked around and a...More
