Was nice to see this not often visited Stupa. It was covered in grass and weeds and looked very neglected.

No one seems to know exactly how old this stupa is, but the general agreement seems to be that it is one of the oldest monuments in Vientiane. That makes it current neglected state all the more depressing. The masonry has a virtual field of...More

Easy to visit as it is located near the tourist hot spots and in the middle of the roadway. Not something to go out of your way to see and hard to miss if you spend much time visiting other highlights like the presidents house....More

It is enough to drive by with tuck tuck or taxi. This will allow you to see everything there is to see.

Happened to walk by this stupa today. Looks similar to so many others. Would NOT make a special trip to see.

That Dam - or the black stupa - is situated in a quiet side street, surrounded by restaurants and shops. But still peaceful.

Unsure it is worth a trip out of the way, but ok if you are walking by. An old stupa which is over grown with grass and dirt

We visited it just because it was near our hotel ,it was not the most interesting stupa in Vientiane, it's in need of some renovation.

The story I heard was that it was the Thai's that build it when they invaded which is why it's not looked after but they couldn't get rid of it because it's a stupa. It's quite cool but I wouldn't walk miles to see it
