I was walking at the downtown before entering the three Wat. It is quiet and nice Wat, offering serenity during my escape from busy road downtown.

Wat Mixay is one of many Buddhist temples in Vientiane. But the statues of guard at the entrance gate is unique, and this is why many tourists come to visit this temple. Actually it is a nice photo spot.

There are lots of temples in Vientiane and they are all beautiful in their own way. This one is remembered because of its colours.

There seems to be a similar Wat about every block or too. Many places to celebrate their religion. Great for tourist photo ops. The most colorful buildings around

A beautiful temple with colourful roof and nice architecture. There is also a school here within its premise. A visit here can be enjoyed in peace and quiet as this temple does not see many tourists.

Together with Wat Ong Teu and Wat Inpeng, they are temples with no tourists. More like a monastery. Quiet. You could take your time to appreciate the art and space with no interference from group of tourists.

A lovely temple right in the heart of the city as many are. At the gates though there are statues which make this one slightly more unique for Laos, ( more Thai style).

Because wats are everywhere, simple wat as this becomes so common and the peculiarity and specialness of them is lost.

No admission fee. Can walk around the grounds first and take photos. Must remove shoes before entering the temple. Easy to stop here when walking in the city.
