Of course is not a museum!!!!

Nobody is a fool: all these places are not museums but shops. Saying this we went in and we left with "good" buys (well we think so and I used to work for a jeweller!). As usual... read more

You need to be a gemologist to know what you are buying. Luckily I didn't indulge and only bought a few stones that I had planned on making into pieces. I bought a turquoise stone that turned out to be fake! So disappointed. Watch the video and leave!

We were taken there with our scammer and I am pretty sure he got some money for taking us there. If you know what you are doing and you know you don't want to buy anything then stay strong and prepare for them being super pushy. We didn't want anything and they kept showing us different jewellery and offering better... More

Nobody is a fool: all these places are not museums but shops. Saying this we went in and we left with "good" buys (well we think so and I used to work for a jeweller!). As usual they are pushy (all vendors are) and try to sell you what they want but...the mouth is created to be used to say... More

I've learnt from this trip to Sri Lanka that nothing is as it is advertised. you will be misled as a rule in multiple attempts to be exploited as a tourist. It is with this understanding that I can rate it average... nice gems... some expensive, some okay priced. not a museum though. My daughters took selfies with the gems... More

Great place in the center of colombo. They got a huge car park and lovely museum & mining demonstration. I wanted to purchase a blue topaz but they convinced me to purchase a lovely sapphire. I ended up purchasing few sapphires for almost USD7000..... Quality was very exceptional and i was informed of the grading. I was so happy for... More

More than a Museum this place is a SHOP.If you just look around and do not buy anything these people end up passing remarks as if we were wasting their time.Nothing Great!!!

Well, we do not make up stories to create a hard situation. We do explain the gems and jewellery we have. One could simply see a variety of gems, jewellery and rare specimens in the museum. We dont believe in clients coming in only for buying. If so, we wouldnt have a museum and a mining demonstration. Its how you... More

The "museum" is just a fancy showroom, nothing more. Dont bother going there, just a waste of time. even though we tried bargaining the prices were still WAY above our budget hence didn't end up buying anything and wasted almost 3 hours there :(

My husband brought what he thought was a $90.00 necklace only to find out that they had charged his card 900.00!!!!!!!!!!nHe tried to take it back and they wouldn't take it of course!! Horrible! I think they just take advantage of tourist people who perhaps are not familiar with the exchange rate. It's really sad. They should be ashamed of... More

By its name, I thought I could see lots of precious pieces of collection. The 'showroom' is actually just the entrance area, they built up something like a cave, to show how they found gemstones. This part is very small that you can finish seeing within 1 mins (max!), then straight walk to the 'salesroom'! I could feel people there... More
