Tough to find. No one knew where it was. It's a large pond filled with Lilly pads. Many egrets, small herons with some buffalo wallowing in the mud. Probably not worth the visit unless you arrive early morning with a telephoto lens.

A peaceful drive if one is looking for a spot of urban birding. Recommend early morning as the best time. Ideally during the migratory season (Oct-Mar) but still worth a visit any time.

This verdant wetland borders one of Colombo's most scenic suburbs. It is excellent for bird watching and for observing some fast disappearing species of insects, as well as for a quiet day of relaxation - and I mean, quiet. This is not the place for...More
