Our Turkey holiday was organised by Turkey Travel Centre and many of the tours were conducted by Acetes Travel. These were professionals. There was a note to the hotel on the previous day re pick-up, the transport was always reliably on time, we were ferried around sites, lunch spots, and hotels by competent drivers, and the guides were, mostly, excellent. Our... More

Good team works, we booked both north and south Cappadocia tours from Evren in Istanbul office. Emre picked us from our Cappadocia hotel on time. When we want to pay with credit card, the manager from Cappadocia said nothing, just helped us made it, and even drove us back to hotel himself, excellent service, bravo!

Acetes were our tour guides under sub contract from another company in Istanbul. They were excellent! Our guide Yetkin, and driver Mumin, did everything they could to make our 16 days as wonderful as possible. We are not an easy family to look after with our youngest at age 3 and eldest with mobility restrictions. They were so very patient... More

Did two day tours (Ephesus and Kusadasi and Pamukkale)with Acetes and had two different guides, the first day I had Mehmet which was excellent as he involved you in the history, conversation and was really an excellent guide. The second day, the guide (can't recall his name) was one of the "I just work here" type of guide, he was... More

We had an excellent trip with Gate 1. The hotels were fine and the guide, Chadash, was great. He made the many different places of interest come alive with his expert recounting of all aspects of Turkish life and history. He was always ready to answer our questions and ensure that our vacation was enjoyed to the utmost. Many places... More

1) Went on a 2-day tour of Cappadocia. Our guide on the first day was so-so. He tried to make jokes but they weren't too funny. We had a great group though - our own group were 6 girls and our tour had about 6 other people. Our second day we had a really great guide, Gonca. She was very... More

We took 2 days private tour in Cappadocia with our guide Hamide. We took northern part of Cappadocia in one day, and southern part on the next day. We did ancient churches, valleys, trekking, underground city, etc. I can say Hamide is the big asset of the company, she's one of the best guide we ever had. She really nailed... More

Two day tour of capadocia. The tour was organised and carried out very professionally. A clean spacious and comfortable mini bus was at our disposal all day with ample supply of complimentary drinking water (a wonderful gesture in the summer). Had an excellent guide, Hamide. She was very knowledgable and spoke excellent English was able to give us detailed history... More

Booked a 4-day tour through Agora Guesthouse in Istanbul, in late October with the following itinerary: Izmir/Ephesus, Pamukkale, Cappadochia 2 days. Despite multiple transfers and flight delays, the tour was well coordinated. The group was small (max 6 people) which makes it a lot more enjoyable. Special thanks to Mensure, our guide from Urgup, for being a wonderful host in... More

I had booked my tours through True Blue in Istanbul and they recently started working with this agency in Selcuk/Kusadasi. I had wanted to see Pamukkale but also visit Aphrodisias on the way there - this is one of the few agencies that offers it. I had Rya as my tour guide who was really good, knowledgable, friendly, and patient.... More

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
