If I could only sit there looking at the Bosphorus for hours...doing nothing else... *sigh* The tranquil, turquoise blue of the Bosphorus (esp on the Asian side) gave me that unbelievable peace of mind and took me into zen mode as soon as I set...More

This road has to be my favorite place in the city. Start from the Dolmabaçhe Palace: the grandeur is spellbinding! Drive along past Cigaran Palace and to Ortaköy. The place where a mosque, a church and a synagogue are all within 100 meters of each...More

In Besiktas, skyscrapers compete with palaces for
space in an upscale vista replete with hilly green
parkland filling in the margins. Step into this rather

opportunities to shop, dine, and be entertained. For
folks in search of urban buzz, not to mention a
constant reminder of just how important Istanbul’s
waterways are to its rich history, there's the

Don't fall for the boat company thing unless you want to just drive around the water. When we went, we went specifically to visit the princess island, we took the tram to the dock and got tickets. It was a really nice ride... More
