This was a surprise discovery as I took the tram past the old walls of the city of Constantinople. The museum, located in a park, recreates the battle in 1453 in which 19 year old Fatih Sultan Mehmed managed to get past the walls that...More

If you want to get an idea of that historical event when in Istanbul this is just a tramway ride away… take the T1 (tram) to Topkapi stop and it's a short walk away. Some would say it's not great but still, this is a...More

We went by tram to see the Byzantine City Walls of Constantinople. Huge structure. In between part of the double walls are vegetable plots. I cannot imagine how the city fell into the hands of the Ottoman forces. No one besides my son and myself...More

A museum that has little to offer. Just some effects that have not impressed me. It is just a painted dome with light being shed on the surface accompanied by exaggerated sound effects. Not worth visiting when there is such an abundance of other magnificent...More

It's not a big deal but if you're close to this Area than it's worth it to see the Panorama 1453 at 15 TL.

A very well organized, managed, historical background of conquer. Multi language audio guide headsets are available. There are pictures, letters, objects, a very stunning screenplay grasping you in the time of 1453 siege, you will remember war screams for a while... Must really see.

It is not mentioned as top tourist destination but it really is extraordinary. It illustrates the conquer (fateh)of Istanbul. And the gift shop is surprisingly cheap with great souvenirs. A must go to anyone interested in the history of Istanbul.

For an entrance fee of 15tl this is well worth the visit. There is an audio guide available - think it was 10tl. One can follow the various paintings on the first level and second level before entering the panorama. Is worthwhile reading the plaques...More

No more than a half hour. You go to a view point and you can see everything from that view point
