Traveled with Aussie tours, booked in Istanbul, to Gallipoli for a day trip out of Istanbul. A very long day, made longer by the milk run of picking people up from various hotels, and again dropping them off at the end of the day. The mini bus with thirty people was full, the included breakfast and lunch was average. Stopped... More

Naim Kara was the best company one could ever have in Istanbul. His knowledge about history goes beyond his young age, he has this great sense of humour but always behaving like a true gentleman. He was my compass when I was lost and my encyclopedia when I felt dumb. I strongly advice to hire him as a tour guide,... More

We asked for a quote for airfare and accom to Capadoccia and the guy was a thug. So incredibly rude we walked out. He also tried charging us over a thousand lira more than we got a better hotel and airfare ourselves. They make up the price looking at you.

At the beginning of my trip to Turkey I visited Istanbul with Naim Kara as guide. The professionalism and manners of this gentleman have been perfect. I congratulate you for having such an employee. I have seen all locations and historic places I wanted, supplemented by adequate historic explanations. I have the feeling the time I spent in Turkey was... More

I was in Turkey with all my family last July, spending our summer holiday. When whe arrived to Istanbul,we hadn't hired any guide or tourist agency to see the city, but the first day, while we were visiting the Blue Mosque,a man started to talk with us,and told us that he could show us lots of cultural sites, with really good tour guides, for not... We took a one day tour with Naim. I gotta admit that was one of the most exciting trips I have even been on. We visited Hagia Sophia,Topkapi Palace,Hippodrome and Sultan Ahmed Mosque. THOSE PLACES ARE UNBELIEVABLE! Naim was very informative I have to admit I felt a little ashamed that I dont know even half as much about attractions... More

We used EKOTTRAVEL and our guide's name was Jonc or Jonq or equivalent. He told us his name when we started, but said it changes throughout the day as the people get tired! Originally, the tour included the Grand Bazaar and Spice Bazaar, but that was modified due to the schedule change the day before. We were at the Blue... More

We took this combination of boat and bus tour for the day. The guide was very helpful and the kids and us had a great time because of the friendly nature. The bus and boat were very clean and we got tea and snacks on the boat.

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
