The ropeway system takes about 15 minutes each way and gives a beautiful view of the Bosphorus, the tomb of the mosques all around. The negative side of it is that the glasses of the gondola are not that clean, hence taking photographs from inside the Gondola is not a pleasant experience. One can try this ride. It gives a... We caught the ferry from Galata bridge, had a look at the mosque and then walked up to the lookout through the backstreets. Great view from the top, down the golden horn to Istanbul and up to the north. Had coffee at the cafe behind/above the restaurant - went to pay and the waiter took my 20 lira (18 lira... More

We took the cable car up the hill and sat on top at a local coffeeshop. We had our breakfast there and enjoyed the views. On our way back we took the ferry boat and got off close to galata tower. Amazing views from the top and very fresh pastries.

Eyup is named by one of Prophet Mohammed followers Abu Eyup Al Ansari. The area is nice and quiet. Oto park is near the mosque. Many shops in the way to the mosque.

Eyüp is located on one of the 7 hills of Istanbul, called Piere Lotti. It is very local area where you would have a chance to see how local people live. From Emınönü we took a bus 99A to get there, took off at the first stop when the bus turned to the left and walked back for few minutes... More

If you ferry up the Golden Horn, this is where you will end. Several small, but nice mosques in town, in addition to the major Eyup mosque. Also, hundreds of old, and not-so-old graves in the area. Interesting combination of Ottoman and modern Muslim gravestones. We also had some very good chicken skewer (Tavuk Sis) for lunch on the main... More

Took the Golden Horn ferry from EMİNÖNÜ five stops to EYÜP. The dock for the ferry at EMİNÖNÜ is to the left of Galata bridge, past the buses and behind the auto parking lot. At Eyup first took the cable car to the top where there is a beautiful view, relaxed and had tea. Walked downhill through the most interesting... More

I discovered this place while going to visit someone. The only hardship I faced is finding the right bus to get to Eyup from Eminonu. Other than that everything was easy. Unfortunately, it was a Friday and the mosque as well as the street in front were so crowded and I had an appointment to catch, so I skipped visiting... More
