The municipal boat runs official tours at 25 lira per pax. There is the 2 hour trip that starts at 2pm or the 6 hour trip that starts at 1030 am. We opted for the 6 hour trip as we were curious about the cruise. This public boat stopped at various docks to pick up passengers along the Bosphorus, so... More

I found this the best-value-for-money attraction in Istanbul. I took the short cruise which departs daily at 2:30pm. It starts at Eminou pier and then sails along the Bosphorus until after the 2nd Bosporus bridge and then returns. The total trip duration is 3h and is absolutely awesome. You constantly walk from side to side on the deck to enjoy... More

The tour itself its nice, but can be quite boring of you take the 90 minute one. I would recommend it for a rainy day. The ship is nice and the cay is obviously perfect on the ship.

Make sure you take the tour through the Bosphorus for stunning views over the city. We took the 12TL tour of an hour trip but they also have a longer tour. Well worth it especially if you take it around sunset as you can see the city during the day and also with the lights on when its dark. Would... More

This dinner cruise in Bosphorus with great buffet and belly dancing and entertainment shows is a great experience. Well lit Istanbul and colourful hanging bridges will be remembered for ever.

Long leisurely cruise on the Bosphorus in Istanbul, a different view of Istanbul, the cruise takes you right up to the bridge that joins Europe and Asia, very interesting.

If you are planning to go to Istanbul and you have MUST visit list, please ADD this to it. Short Bosphorus tour takes you to 2 hours from EMINONU (place where you can buy the ticket and also the tour starts from there every day) to Sariyer, the settlement thats very far away from Eminonu. The tour costs 12 lira... More

You can’t visit Istanbul and not take a cruise on the Bosphorus! The trip we booked offered not only that, but also a coach tour of the Golden Horn (not hugely exciting) culminating in a visit to lookout, which was well worth it, and cable car descent. Like most things in Istanbul, you could have done the cruise bit yourself,... More

We took this cruise from the old city side of the Galata Bridge. Very inexpensive for what you get. We paid about 12 lira apiece. The ship left on the hour. We found a seat after boarding. It quickly became more crowded until the point of no more seats. The ship went up the strait and docked briefly on the... More

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
