I honestly didn't think I would enjoy this place so much, seeing how I was never particularly interested in boats. But the ones on display here are so incredibly detailed and full of history. I definitely recommend the tour. Costed me only 7,50 TL. It's...More

This museum is very small compared to its many counterparts over the world - and this is strange, for the history of Istanbul is largely bound to seamanship and shipbuilding. What you can see here is basically a collection of exemplars of the same type...More

It's nice to visit and see old boats, children also enjoyed it with some sculptures of maritime commanders. But boats are high and you can't see well, they should put something to be able to see better. For 6.5 Lira per person (children for free)...More

Nice boats, lots of history, battles and stories, but zero interactivity. Highly recommend Rahmi M. Koc Museum for boats, planes, cars, trains and much more!

The Maritime Museum is well put together and organized. There are English translations on all exhibits. The exhibits are easy to see and beautifully maintained. It's inexpensive and a pretty quick (1-2 hours) tour.

Our first visit to the museum, which is new and handily placed in Besiktas near the Dolmabahce Palace. It is spacious and welcoming, with good lighting and well judged arrangement. It represents an impressive collection of royal Caiques or barges that have been richly restored...More

well organised museum with much variety and great exhibits. Plenty of places to sit and relax and appreciate the exhibits. Easy to spend 1/2 day there. Children will also be fascinated.

opportunities to shop, dine, and be entertained. For
folks in search of urban buzz, not to mention a
constant reminder of just how important Istanbul’s
waterways are to its rich history, there's the
