I arrived at the Hagia Sophia without knowing much about what I was about to see. I knew if I was going to get the most of my visit I was going to need a tour guide. Semih was ready on-the-spot at an affordable rate, and he provided a great tour of the historical building. He has a wealth of... More

We booked Semih for an 8 hour private tour of Istanbul and absolutely loved it. He picked up our group of 4 at our hotel and took us to the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, Basilica Cistern, and the Grand Bazaar (along with a great lunch). We learned so much more than we would have had we toured these... More

As first timers in Istanbul, we were a little overwhelmed with everything to see in just a few days. Semih was amazing in helping us take in the major sites in the right amount of time with the right amount of information. He was great with my million questions and tailored the tour to what we were looking for. He... More

Having met Semih on my first visit to Istanbul in 2013, I recently returned with my son and booked him again for 2 days of sightseeing. Semih has an encyclopaedic knowledge of the history of Istanbul and old Constantinople and knows all the best places to see, the best restaurants and cafes and the best shops. It is well worth... If you want to experience Istanbul- to go beyond the tourist sights and really feel the city- you must do so with Semih. I visited Istanbul with a friend, and we were very keen to hire a local, professional guide; as two women travelling alone, it was important to us to feel safe during our visit. Semih was the consummate... More

Semih was our tour guide for Istanbul and man does he know Turkey. All of the History is up in his head and his English is excellent so their is no confusion when he explained cultural concepts or events. He can also show you some of the best places to eat in Istanbul. He has many unique connections and might... More

We were two 'senior ladies' on our first trip to Istanbul. Semih arrived promptly at our hotel for our guided tour. We then spent an enjoyable informative day visiting the sites. We were able to access entrance to the places of interest quickly by using Semih contacts giving us more time in each place. Semih left us with a comprehensive... More

We were a party of six "mature" visitors, on our first trip to Istanbul. Semih was smart, informative and he paid for all the tickets and avoided all the queues. I can strongly recommend him to you.He arrived early as he knew there was going to be a great number of visitors as there were two cruise ships in port.... More

I landed in Selcuk after a 10 hour bus ride from Konya, and hit the ground running…well more like sauntering with a private tour guide, Burga Can, through several Greco-Roman Ruins in this area of Turkey. I however, had not eaten since the night before and was famished. I expressed my hunger to Bugra Can, who ended up being an... More

Staying in Sisli

Neighbourhood Profile
For much of Istanbul’s history, Sisli and the area just north of Taksim Square were open countryside used mostly as hunting grounds. These days, Sisli and its chic streets are considered the very heart of contemporary Istanbuli life, where an epicenter of fashion and a thriving business district meet to create an expressly “downtown” feel. Though largely a residential neighborhood, luxury hotels, fine dining restaurants, and upscale shops abound with many of them situated inside or nearby Cevahir Istanbul, the biggest shopping mall in Europe and second biggest urban shopping mall in the world. Shopaholics and fashionistas travel from near and far to browse the area's mix of major global brand items and creations by popular Turkish designers.
