We ate here on our last night. We kept the best for last. I had the Sea Bass on a bed of mashed potatoes. It was the best meal. Melted in your mouth and the potatoes added to the flavor of the fish. The chocolate pudding was delicious and not too sweet. I noticed that with the Turkish delights, chocolates... More

It is hard to reserve place at this restaurant you have to reserve it 1 week beforehand if you wanna feel the great Istanbul Gulf view but really it worth is the food staff everything was excellent. Where it situates really looks creepy and hard to find it but when you arrive there you step inside the temple of the... More

We had been told about this little gem of a restaurant and how difficult it was too find, but worth the effort. Well it certainly was worth it!! Take the lift to the 6th floor and before your very eyes you experience the best views of Istanbul ever..... We had 2 cocktails at the bar as we were slightly early,... More

My husband and I were staying nearby and decided to walk the uphill/downhill climb off of Istiklal Street. (Even the walk through the crowded street and alley way was a fun experience.) I found the place online so wasn't sure what to expect. I will tell you, we were very pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere was great, and that view was... More

Besides the great view we had a superb meal. The marinated beef salad as a starter was excellent and I highly recommend the Bosphorus kebab and to finish the Chocolate soufflé with lavender ice-cream. It is not cheap but well worth it. It was a great way to end our 4 days holiday in this incredible city !

This is the place I have eaten the best risotto of my life!! Great view of the city, although u have to be a little lucky to get a seat by the window. The prices are quite high compared to average restaurants prices in Istanbul, but still affordable. I would pay 40 liras over and over again for that kind... More

I feel like we must have eaten at a different restaurant than the other reviewers... but we were at Leb i Derya, Richmond. The place is all style and no substance. The food is presented elegantly, but the quality was awful. The meat was dry, overcooked and didn't taste very fresh. The "pesto" provided with the bosphorous kebab was definitely... More

I went with business delegates and the waiters didnt give us the front tables which has best view of bhospor. at 10:00 night if we dont commit that we would have a dinner. this is very unkind. Even it was late and already has vacant 3 tables but we couldnt get one. Dont go if you dont eat.

Excellent food and location....spectacular.....service good to start but then inattentive, once we had our main course we were left to our own devices! We sat at the bar to have cocktails...our waiter had no idea where we were, or was not bothered.

Not to be confused with the other restaurants of the same name this place sits of the upper-most floor and roof of a narrow residential apartment block on the upper part of the slope from Beyoglu down to the Bosporus. The actual dining area is quite small and bookings are almost essential. There is only one sitting and it was... More

Staying in Beyoglu

Neighbourhood Profile
Istanbul’s most famous street, pedestrianized Istiklal Caddesi (Independence Avenue), throbs day and night and offers a fantastic array of architectural sights, shops, treats, and throngs upon teeming throngs of people. At the avenue’s northeastern end is expansive Taksim Square, thought by many to be the very heart of the city, with many of Turkey’s most renowned restaurants and some of Europe’s most happening nightlife in close proximity. In striking contrast, Beyoglu’s less trafficked areas – such as the affluent Cihangir and the antiques district of Cukurcuma – exude Old World charm and provide contemplative calm and splendid diversion via an assortment of cozy cafes, attractive boutiques, and quiet lanes.
