In summer arrive early or lunchtime. Many visitors come here from cruise ships. No photos inside. Quaint and peaceful. Beautiful resting place for our blessed Mary.

A very nice experience no matter what religion you belong to. Go there when going to Ephesus ruins as it's on the way...

It is said that Virgin Mary (mother of Jesus Christ) lived in this stone house until her Dormition. There is also a simple church and a small pool for baptized. Also Pope Benedict XVI visited this place. Some Christian and Muslims pilgrims come here every year on August 15.

The title says it all. This place has great historical significance for Christians but there isn't much to see. It was a cool to say that we went there. The house itself is very small and no photos are allowed, it's basically just a shrine at this point. You can see where the original house (just the foundation) survived and... More

We were disappointed after driving up the hill from Ephesus to find that they wanted to charge us for a car and for 3 people. It would cost more than Ephesus and probably not worth it.

Mary's house was our first stop on our tour of Ephesus. The house is not in Ephesus but on nearby Nightingale mountain. We were very fortunate to be amongst the first to arrive so there were no crowds or distractions. It really is a lovely spot and I found it to be a moving experience. To prove that this is... More
