The museum is located in the middle of town and is definitely worth seeing just for the Artemis statues. The introductory video in the first room about the history of Ephesus is a little bit annoying as it plays in different languages and if you want to watch it you have to wait till it plays in a language you can understand.
Tip: Visit here before heading to the Basilica of St John and Ayasuluk castle and purchase a cheaper ticket for both sites!

New museum, beautifully presented and lit. Has indoor and outdoor sections, plus cafe and shop.
Displays from Ephesus and other sites nearby, including both statues of Aphrodite beautifully staged facing each other.

This is a great building with lots of interesting photos and exhibits. Being in a tourist town it is just such a pity that everything in the museum is in Turkish without any English subtitles. Would have loved to know about the exhibits if there was English. A lot of effort put into the whole place, just not in English.

the museum has involved local people in bringing in their photos, memories and artefacts to share, resulting in a very personal yet professionally displayed local museum, housed in a beauttiful building. Admission is free and it's right in the centre of Selcuk.

I was here twice, this time with my sister and her husband. It's amazing to see that the government is taking care of this place. What they are doing with restoring those old houses - it's incredible. Don't regret spending money on it - enter the house exhibition, which is under the tent. It was probably the most interesting part of our trip.
This, the local cats and, of course, the medival toilet. Lol
A great place just to walk around. But don't forget to put on some comfortable boots, there will be a lot of walking.

The Ephesus Museum (Efes Müzesi) in the town of Selçuk (map) holds the best of the archeological objects excavated at Ephesus, a few artifacts from Ephesus's great Temple of Artemis (the Artemision), and finds from some of the many other significant ancient Hellenic, Hellenistic and Roman cities in the region.

The museum is quite average. The movie in the beginning is the most worth thing here (for me). it gives an excellent insight on how Ephesus city was during the Roman period with sketches and deep dive on everyday life. The movie plays in different languages.
The rest are remains that were found on the site (not very interesting for me to be honest).
The staff at the entrance are very unfriendly.
