Great day trip. I spent the night in a Bedouin Tent on a 2 day tour. Not my cup of tea--yes they have a shower but NO SOAP AND NO TOWEL--go figure. NO Air conditioning. 110 to 120 degrees in July it was hot.

I travelled there about four weeks ago. It was cold in the morning but warmed up around mid-day and was pleasant. So I'd suggest cover up if you're arriving in the morning.
