Situated at the University tower, the highest building in Haifa on the highest place. Public transportation is very convenient. The collection is very interesting. I personally liked sculptures, but there are a lot of masterpieces of the modern artists as wellas some masters of 19th and 20th century

Hidden away in a basement at Haifa University, this gem consists of a large archaeological wing and a smaller srt wing. The latter consists of a collection of mainly impressionist and post-impressionist paintings, but it is the archaeological wing which is the real attraction. Literally thousands of objects and artefacts are beautifully displayed and clearly labelled. On the day we visited,... More

Amazing archaeological museum! And FREE! AND open on Shabbat! But 37 and 37X (Alef) can take you there on Shabbat. Forget the art, it's not so good, but the archaeological exhibits are better done than most countries national museums! Lots to see and a boat! (this message is archaeologist approved)

My son is attending a summer program at the university of Haifa and I walked by this museum a few times making a note to visit at some point. I thought it was primarily ancient artifacts but was pleasantly surprised, shocked actually, when I went up to the French impressionist gallery to see utrillos, manets and other world class art... I visited this museum accompanying a friend who herself is a curator of an archaeological museum in Canada so we were given a private tour. I therefore saw the museum not only as an excellent collection of unique objects, which it is, but also learnt how it was designed and the objects preserved and presented. As described elsewhere - his... More

I was expecting not to be impressed. But the museum turned out to be quite impressive. Not too big, great for kids, comprehensive, interesting, user friendly. There is an inexpensive cafe/restaurant right outside the entrance, but it may not be open at all times. Check opening hours and parking options before. As the museum is located within the Haifa University... More

The archeological exhibits are very original and give on a feel for the actual sites. Rueven Hech ammassed an out standing collection of artifacts to demonstrte the jewish connection to the Land of Israel. You do not have to accept his point of vie but many of the exhibits are as outstanding as those of the Israeli museum. and it... More
