We stayed at the Rosa Inn, which I believe is part of the former German Colony. It is a historic district with guest houses and restaurants. Well worth a visit. Plus, you have amazing views of the Bahá'í Gardens and Shrine of the Báb, which...More

I think its the only happening place in haifa. Lot of boutiqe hotels on street. All of them are unique. Proximity to baha'i garden only 500 mtrs. Good local resturant.. its amust visit place in haifa. One can enjoy romantic evening there..

There are plenty of restaurants and a great place for a picture of the Baha'i Gardens - especially at sunset. We only visited this area once as I think there are more interesting places to see around the Haifa area.

This is a postcard area. Charming, bright, more Lebanese than israeli, lots of families. The street looks up to the gardens and the overall mix makes it very unusual in what is usually an untidy country.

It's cute and pretty to walk around but a lot of the restaurants are super expensive. Worth walking up and down the streets after seeing the Baha'i gardens.

Where exactly is the German colony? And if you find a place to stay there, are the other sites in Haifa in walking distance, or do you need to take busses, or what? Also, is there a tour of the Technion? (for the mathematically oriented visitors)

Hi There are some boutique hotels and hostels in and around the German Colony. But the main hotels are on top of the Carmel mountain. Not all sites are at walking distance. Buses are useful. Technion- not sure. If I can... More

I'm wondering if the neighborhood is safe and if there is a pretty beach nearby. I see you're from Haifa. Can you tell me if the beaches and general area around Lin are nice? Thanks
