It is a real pearl in Haifa. This old quarter where the Templers (read about in Wikipedia) used to live has a unique style of architecture. It is renewed now and walking there by night is enchanting, full of restaurants cafes candy and snacks stores...More

I was very surprised to learn that there was a German colony in Israel! however it starts at the base of the Bahai gardens and on towards the port. very well maintained and has several al fresco dining options

we had a guided tour of the German colony with a PhD guide who knew the fascinating history of the Templars. That's what made the buildings especially interesting.

lovely atmosphere especially at night. Full of restaurants and coffee bars. All looked very inviting. Small area so easy to walk up and down.

We really enjoyed the late night walk in this area. Beautiful lights and nice clean streets with old buildings. Plenty of restaurants with nice street view.

Hi There are some boutique hotels and hostels in and around the German Colony. But the main hotels are on top of the Carmel mountain. Not all sites are at walking distance. Buses are useful. Technion- not sure. If I can... More
