This Jordan Rive baptismal site is a special and sacred spot for Christianity. Here the Jordan River flows through the plains of Jericho, creating a thread life through the heart of the desert. Christian pilgrims come here to be baptized in the river, just as – according to tradition – John the Baptist baptized Jesus some two thousand years ago.

The real Baptism site is at the opposite side, where you can see the real historical remains, pray in real churches and have a real baptism.

Nice tourist friendly but not touristy complex built on River Jordan in the spot traditionally thought to be the site where John the Baptist baptized Jesus Christ. Just being there is for most people from Western culture something incredible. You have to cross the boarder...More

No, this site can not see the mountains, it is the depression of a river.

What is the best tour guide or company to use for a visit to Qasr El Yahud? Can it be coupled with a visit to Masada and Dead Sea?

Response from Maria Rosa J | Reviewed this property |
The site visit is very short and is close to Masada and the Dead See. You can visit together, although Masada requires a whole day if you want to look good.
