An easily accessible gate just down from Jaffa Street and the tram, this gate funnels thousands of people each day into old town. Tourists and Israeli citizens alike move smoothly in and out. It is maintained very well and has public benches all around the outside so you can simply pause and take some time off.

Before you enter Jaffa Gate you'll see the Muslim graveyards, many graves as close to the wall as possible. This is the wall Jesus will supposedly use in His final return to earth. Lots of debate points! Meanwhile, Jaffa Gate is a grand entrance to the Holy City. You'll find a great Information Center inside on the left where you... More

Classic architecture, a great way to enter the old city. If you look around I think there are some bullet holes near here from the 1967 war too.

Entering the city through the Jaffa Gate is just an awesome feeling. There are many shops just inside. Lots of souvenir places in this area also.

Jaffa Gate has many names‎‎, Sha'ar Yafo, Bab al-Khalil, Hebron Gate, Bab Mihrab Dawud, is a stone portal in the historic walls of the Old City of Jerusalem. It is one of eight gates in Jerusalem's Old City walls. also one of the only right angled to the wall gate in the old city of Jerusalem.

Right near tons of shops and the Tower of David Museum, easy access from the light rail and buses. Tons of signage for directions in multiple languages.

Incredible entry to experience old Jerusalem and to access the Via Dolorosa. Tight security in the area.

when visiting the old city I usually start at Damascus gate and end at Jaffa Gate, and its always an experience. the area around the gate is very well maintained and also quite spacious compared to the tight streets around the other gates.

Whatever I asked they knew and explained... My tablet fell...on Shabbath Eve ...and they were able to guide me to the small shop open on Shabbath to replace the charger... Jaffa Gate is a good spot in general...with small shops and some restaurants around... Big thanks to people in that information center...
