This is a nice place, although I doubt it is the exact location Jesus prayed it has to in the area. There is a church there worth seeing and of course very old olive trees. Oh, yes, crowds will most likely be there as well as a part of the modern garden scene.

Gethsemane is one of the Christian sacred places. Today, the garden is still rich in olive trees hundreds of years old, twisted and gnarled. This may have been the site of Jesus’ last night before his arrest (MT 26:36). Church of all Nations/Gethsemani Basilica/Basilica of the Agony commemorates the contributions made by many countries to its construction. Façade enclosed by... More

Situated at the foot of Mount Olives opossite the old city of Jerusalem. The garden of Gethsamene was the location where Jesus was betrayed by one of his disciples. On it site currently sitting the church of All Nations which belongs to the Franciscan order.

Located at the foot of the Mount of Olives, this small garden is revered by christians as the place where Jesus prayed and his disciples slept the night before Jesus' crucifixion. The garden is quite lovely but much smaller than I had imagined. The ancient olive trees are amazing. Fortunately, we were not overrun with tourists during our visit to... More

This could have been the garden of John 18. Stop and reflect on the history, even if you don't believe. While you're there, look at the wonderful OLD olive trees.

Smaller than expected but ancient olive trees were fascinating. Steep hill to walk down over cobbled stones on slope of Mount of Olives

A very lovely garden with no public admittance; a good idea since it was spared being trampled by the thundering herds of tourists. So one walked about it on paths while the tour guide picked leaves of various herbs and described them. It is a sane and calm area in an insane city.

The garden boasts olive trees that have proven to be over 2,000 years old ... plus one beauty that scientists say is over 4,000 years old!! "Silent Witnesses" to the passion of Christ, starting with his prayers and agony in the garden!

A place of prayer and you will know why when you are there. The Olive Trees here are incredible.....and the specific Huge First Century one is amazing. Take time to just be here and stroll, think and pray. The view across the roadway of the Tempe Mount and the Gate is breathtaking. You can see just how close each place... More
