When visiting the Tower pay the extra and either take a guided tour or use the head phones to get a real feel of the historical significance.

The fortress is impressive to visit, and has some interesting exhibitions as well. To complement the visit, make sure to climb the big Tower, where you will have a staggering and unforgettable view over the Old Town of Jerusalem. Don't miss!

We took the guided tour of the museum. The guide was extremely knowledgeable but the depth of his detail may be a bit too much for some. It is still worth a visit.

Yes you can. The museum is on the main level and you can let the kids explore around the citadel while an adult is visiting the museum.
