First and foremost, these tours (both Bridge and Rock tours) are well worth a visit. I have been to Israel many times however this was the first that I purchased tickets to experience the lower section. It was quite a cool experience. I opted for the English tours and my guide Sharon was outstanding. I look forward to returning in the future once additional areas are opened up.
Suggestions:
*Wear comfortable shoes
*If you have issues with narrow passageways, this tour may not be for you as it traverses long narrow walkways for a majority of the tour,
*You walk for 70% of the time so be prepared.
*The tours are stacked and in between they flow in bar mitzvah groups which tend to get loud and disruptive to the paid group tours.
*Be sure to check in at least 15-20 minutes before your tour (they suggest 30).
*Each tour lasts 60-70 minutes each.
*Be ready to learn quite a bit about the First and Second Temples which I found to be very informative and interesting for as much as I have learned during my school days.

This was a reasonably well-run guided tour that lasts just over an hour. Tickets are purchased in advance and admission based on timings. Walking distance underground is about 300 metres, and involves a fair number of stairs and some narrow passages. Our guide was knowledgeable and animated, and pointed out the various subterranean spaces, which include houses, an aqueduct and cisterns, the massive "Western Stone," and the remains of a medieval church. Unfortunately, he occasionally dawdled a bit, which meant that we were pushed along a bit by the group behind us. That said, learning about the wall's history and seeing the incredible masonry skills used in ancient times, makes this underground tour worthwhile.

It is an amazing part of a visit to the Old City of Jerusalem, and see how the Temple mount was built, how the stones were set on top of Mount Moriah, an architectural and engineering feat, that is incredible.
It is worth visiting, if you get to book your time, just groups of 20 people enter each 10 minutes, and do reserve it ahead of time or via your tour operator.
The exit is on the first station of the Via Crucis, so it is a good place to continue touring the Old City

This is a very good tour undertaken with the benefit of the guide who absolutely knew her subject and had great enthusiasm (although more of that later).
Entrance is by a timed ticket so there is not much point in arriving early. The tour takes about an hour and is a perfect when couple with a visit to the Temple Mount and Wailing Wall nearby.
It provides an good insight to the history of the wall and also the construction.
The only criticism I would have is that as the tour progressed the guide had a significant religious bias which was a shame.

We spent part of an amazing morning going through these tunnels with an expert guide who helped us understand what we were seeing. We knew that Israel and much of the middle east consists of cities build on top of cities, but doing this tour really helped us see this first hand and understand what it really means. The amazing history that is revealed at this site makes the visit very worthwhile.

The western wall tunnels are worth visiting. What you can get and appreciate depends on the guide. Ours was a aged man that spent most of the time trying to make a comedy-style spectacle appreciated, as far as I perceived, by few participants while most of us were looking around, bored. After a while, some of the participants resigned and went away. Buy the guide was to busy in his "comedy" to realize It.

Best tour!! About an hour and ten minutes. Book online before you go. Liam was the most Amazing tour guide!!! He was so personable, informative, funny, engaging, all ages loved him. He answered all our questions and we not only saw such cool and important stuff, and we not only learned a ton, we also felt totally uplifted by all that he taught us. We all learned so much. He speaks both Hebrew and English perfectly. We highly recommend booking a tour at the tunnels and if you’re lucky, you’ll get Liam as your guide!! He was incredible!!!!

Excellent and surprising visit to the whole length of wall with witty and very knowledgable guide named Juda. Really surprised and overwhelmed by the extraordinarily large stones the size of Egyptian obelisques set in the wall. Was a little disappointed that the tickets were so complicated to get. Showed up at office and two guys eating bags of cookies behind desk mumbled that everything sold out that day. Then went online and found lots of tickets but the online site super wonky. It took several tries to buy the tickets right there with cookie guys staring into space not willing to assist in any way.

Very disappointing. My wife visited many years ago and told me how wonderful it was as you walked through the low narrow tunnels as they would have been for centuries.
Now they are large vaulted rooms with very little information in each room and no where near the experience we have had in other ancient sites.
We got a guide that only spoke Hebrew.
Accepting that most of the tour was from one long lecture to another where she described the history and different areas. The group was too large which meant that half the people couldn’t see what she was describing.
The guy at reception initially said he couldn’t speak English and later spoke perfectly.

This was my third time taking a tunnel tour. I tried booking ahead, but every slot, for all tours, seemed to be booked. Finally I was able to book an early morning Great Bridge Tour. I had not done that tour previously. So glad I did. This tour gave a completely new and different perspective of the Wall in relationship to the ancient city of Jerusalem. The guide was extremely knowledgeable, and she answered everyone's questions. Recommend booking ahead online.

Is this ok for a Claustrophobic person? Are the tunnels wide or narrow? Are we in small/confined spaces?
Written May 22, 2023
Much of the area is quite open (largish rooms but in some spots, the short passages between rooms are a bit narrow. The area is fascinating but you should use your judgement based on how you might feel in the area.

What is the difference between the "The Great Stone Tour (The Classic Tour)" and the "The Great Bridge Tour (NEW)" in terms of what is visited, etc? Is one recommended over the other?
Written August 26, 2022
Both tours are great. The great bridge tour shows you newly discovered architecture.

Does anyone know if you can enter the Western Wall Tunnels through the Via Dolorosa exit? Do the passage the other way around and end in the actual Western Wall Plaza.
Written January 24, 2020
All the other responses are correct. Entry is by the Western Wall plaza. Exit is by Via Dolorosa.

I've been often to the Western wall, but have just booked the tunnel tour.
Where do we meet please to start the tour? It didn't seem to say!
Thanks

Hi !
sorry the delay...
The meeting point is just at left side of "man's entrance" to the Western Wall... you can see it in big letters - it is just there, a big entrance (just like a theater).
Go 10 minutes, at least, before the appointment time you made.
It will take around 1 hour and the archeologist who made the explanation was very good. Now I understand a little better all the history behind (under) it.

Hello,
Could you please let me know where to book this tour in advance?
TIA

Through the kotel website directly. Don’t waste your money getting it elsewhere. Sometimes it doesn’t load properly because of your server. I ended up purchasing the tickets on my phone because it wouldn’t work on my computer 🤷🏻♀️

What is the difference of 'behind of thr scene' and 'kota tunnel' when make a researvation W.Wall tunnel tour. behind~ course include kota~course?
Written September 24, 2019
The Kotel is the Hebrew name of the Western Wall. When you book your tour, you can ask for the Kotel tunnel tour or the Western Wall tunnel tour - they are the same thing, no difference.

Need information about the Western Wall Tunnels tours available
Written August 30, 2019
If you ho to the Kotel, you go to the area just next to the entrance to the men's prayer section. They can provide times for tours which are about every hour.

15-20 mins. But it depends, if you want to stop and listen to the story or pray maybe 25-30 mins. You will exit on Via Dolorosa.
