We stopped at Mount Scopus before we entered the City and found that it provided us a great view and overview (thanks to our guide - I wouldn't go here without one) of Jerusalem. Our guide pointed out the Dome of the Rock and explained its history, the Temple Mount, Mount of Olives and of course the Walled City. It's... More

On Mount Scopus, the original place were the Hebrew University was innagurated 1924,the mountain was out of limits and military zone from 1948 to 1967. The whole campus was rebuilt and rennovated, near the garden some old remains of Jewish cemetry-The Nikanor Cave, well organised garden with representation of the Medditerranean plants

the mount scopus view is outstanding, but be careful, the guy selling postcard and the panorama jerusalem picture is very active, he goes right up to you to unfold the picture and view, then he has his hand in your pocket too

If youre visiting campus, be sure to enjoy the serene atmosphere of the gardens. There is a great view also towards the desert!

I keep coming back to the botanical garden to enjoy for a few minutes the water lilly pond, situated in the shade, with small waterfalls continuing to refill it.

The garden is cute and pleasant to walk in. It's an island of nature (green) before the desert. It's located inside the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and if you are in visit inside the university, it would be a shame to not have a walk there. But it's certainly not a place to go to if you are not around.

It's worth stopping here after driving through the Jordan Valley and ascending to Jerusalem. Stop here and look around as you prepare to enter the holy capital.

Not much to see here but the views are pretty good. You can of course see the dome of the Rock and Jerusalem but also by looking the other way you can see the Jewish cemetery and some historical tombs as well. Historically significant for the Jews but not much else going on here.

This was the very first stop we made as we entered Jerusalem on a snowy day in February! We were rushing into Jerusalem before the city was shut down due to a snow storm so we wanted to stop at this overlook for a photo op. Beautiful panoramic views of the snowy city.
