This is a City undergoing massive renovation. Buildings built before a certain year are eligible for infrastructure strengthening, and the companies that work on that are allowed to add two top floors, which can be sold. So, not only are the buildings going to be a lot stronger, but the city is growing in height. In the meantime (which could... More

There is a free walking tour every Saturday 11 am starting at 46 Rothschild St. sponsored by the Bauhaus Center. We walked alongside the Bauhaus Buildings around the Rothschild Street. The tour is FREE and is very rich in content - probably more than most paid tours - through the explanations of the guide Daniel Rosenblum. It is one of... More

Interesting array of Bauhaus style buildings. Had a great tour with our guide - combining history with a nice walk through the city.

Excellent Bauhaus Architecture. Interesting buildings. Boutique hotels. Trendy restaurants. Expensive. Do it once or twice. After that, it becomes cloying and tiresome.

Bauhaus at its best. If you have any interest in this architecture, this is the place to walk around and admire this timeless design that is over 70 years old. It is one of the few things and places in Israel that has not been bankrolled by the US taxpayer money.

Modernism at its best, form follows function. After years of neglecting - and there is still a lot to do -, the Tel Aviv community has woken up and is managing its architecural gems. Pity that in many cases they think it is wise to add high rise to the background. Explore the area on foot.

I walked Rothschild and Ahad Ha'am. Plenty of Bauhaus buildings. Hip area. Lot's of walkers, bikers, skaters. Lots of cafes and benches to sit on. Plenty of opportunities to people watch too.
