The sign is still outside the Hippodrome (I've uploaded a picture), but due to the regrettable decline in tourism in Jordan, this show is not taking place (not enough revenue to pay the cast & crew). With the problems in Syria, Iraq, etc, it’s unlikely that tourism will pick up to the level that they can restart the show any... More

In spite of a website that says the chariot racing is still taking place , it is not. The day we went the site was heaving with hundreds of visitors but no chariot racing. A huge disappointment. There are still signs at the hippodrome but nothing happens. Maybe the website and the signs need removing?

Despite the books and signs at the site this tour doesn't exist therefore don't go expecting this. All I saw was a horse eating grass in the venue!

We visited at the end of October 2015 and there is no indication that it will start again. Speaking to guides at the site they say that tourism has dropped by up to 90% at the site and that they cannot see improvements in the next few years. They are concerned that the skills held by those involved in the... More

Site in excellent shape. Due to lack of visiting tourist the show has been suspended. Quite sad actually. Jordan is beautiful and safe and gets unfortunate negative press which hurts tourism which is a big part of GDP. Your imagination here and a few minutes of solitude is still a great experience.

A wonderful experience to witness the state of the army 2000 years back. Came to know that the Roman soldiers marched in a file. Every 8 minutes the person in front goes back to the rearmost part of the file and the second person comes to the front

What a nice treat and going back in history to witness this superb production of the Roman Army Chariots. A must for every tourist. Just call to make sure for the times as they are not performing every day.
