    Peaceful and Spiritual
Very peaceful place, steeped in history. Allegedly the place where Moses saw the promised land and promptly died, handing over the reigns to Joshua. Lots of beautiful mosaics dating back thousands of years. Pope John Paul II visited in 2000 to pay homage and planted an olive tree. 3 JOD entrance fee, unfortunately not covered by the Jordan Pass.

My wife was moved to be here
This place was one of my wife's favourite places to visit in Jordan. The feeling she got when she looked out over the valley below to the Dead Sea imagining Moses standing up there looking over the promised land. The church and the mosaics were also very interesting. So glad we visited here.

Very well done museum/church - great views!
This was an interesting site. They believe that this was the spot where Moses was able to view the promised land before his death. Not sure exactly how accurate it is that this was the exact spot, but it definitely seems plausible. The church, museum and facilities are very nicely done, super clean and informative. Many mosaics to enjoy and great views on a clear day.

    Stunning Vistas
Mount Nebo is many things to many people. For us it was the panoramic view and the historical significance. The new church onsite has several interesting mosaics, some dating back to the 6th Century, and viewing walkways allow one to see them to maximum effect. There is an admission fee (Mount Nero is not covered by the Jordan Pass). Expect to spend 30 minutes, unless one is participating in one of the masses or prayer sessions.

    Great views of historical importance.
How amazing to stand where Moses and Joshua stood looking in to the valley imaging the ensuing battle. The Franciscan church there although consecrated ground was more of a museum and the blessed sacrament was in the chapel next door but it didn't open until eleven (guess someone wanted a sleep in) pity really. Nice mosaics carefully preserved and a wonderful cross representing the snake Moses help up. Need only about 40mins to view the site.

    Must see
Very nice, calm visit. Jordan Pass doesn't work here so buy tickets at the entrance. Views across Jordan Valley are spectacular. Great collection of mosaics. Gift shop only takes Dinars and it's not cheap so take your cash!

    Very quiet church
This location was run by Franciscan monks and was amazingly tidy and serene. The site of Moses grave was complemented by a church housing some amazing floor mosaics. There was a coffee shop and souvenir shop inside entrance. There is an interesting small museum just past the entrance to the left. Some of the best and cleanest toilets in the whole of Jordan !

    Moses and beautiful mosaics
Mount Nebo is well worth visiting. The mosaics in the church are beautiful. It is a place of pilgrimage and there is a memorial to Moses. The views across the valleys surrounding the mount are also outstanding. There is also a small museum containing ancient artefacts, It has something for everyone.

    A grey day In Jordan.
Thinking we’d miss the crowds by arriving early-ish…coach loads of many nationalities had beaten us to it but we were lucky enough to find a parking space. Queuing to get through the turnstiles was like going to a football match and it was difficult to get photos without lots of people in them. The untypical grey cloudy weather meant that no one was going to spot Jerusalem but the view of rolling hills with barely any habitation was impressive nonetheless. We thought the church was beautiful, modern and tasteful. With some plainsong playing behind the altar it felt very spiritual even for non believers and, despite the crowds, quite peaceful. We spent a good hour there and watched the groups being hustled through and back on the buses.

Holy site with fantastic, sweeping views
This was a stop on our organized tour of Jordan. Mount Nebo is a Christian holy site, the place where Moses first saw the holy land. According to our guide, Moses is buried somewhere around Mount Nebo. The site includes a modern-looking church with nice mosaics, a small museum, and a memorial statue, all perched on a hill with sweeping views all the way to Israel. The Dead Sea can also be seen, but partially and looks like a greyish-blue blob. Even on a clear day, the view is hazy due to the arid, dusty environment. As all major tourist sites, come early to try to beat the large tour groups that stop here.

Beautiful site. Nice spot to overlook the Holy Land. Unfortunately we went on an overcast day but it was still a very nice view. There are various sculptures outdoors & olive trees, a lovely setting. The inside of the church is very beautiful, there are several large mosaics some of which are displayed on the walls. The lighting in the church is very good so one can appreciate the beauty of the mosaics,I enjoyed the mosaics here more than the ones in Madaba where the sites have poor lighting.

I was surprised by how beautiful this spot is. The church is not much to look at from the outside, but the mosaics inside are beautiful. And to stand on the spot where Moses was shown the promised land is amazing. The views over the Jordan valley are amazing. Definitely worth the trip.

After visiting Madaba, we went to Mount Nebo, which is part of the Abarim mountain range. This location is mentioned in the Bible as the place where Moses was granted a view of the Promised Land before his death. The view from the summit provides a panorama of the West Bank across the Jordan River valley. The city of Jericho is usually visible from the summit, as is Jerusalem on a very clear day. According to the Bible (Deuteronomy), Moses ascended Mount Nebo, in the land of Moab (today in Jordan), and from there he saw the Land of Canaan (the Promised Land), which God had said he would not enter; Moses then died there. Mount Nebo is also mentioned in the Bible when the prophet Jeremiah hid the tabernacle and the Ark of the Covenant in a cave there.

A serpentine cross sculpture atop Mount Nebo was created by Italian artist Gian Paolo Fantoni. It is symbolic of the miracle of the bronze serpent invoked by Moses in the wilderness and the cross upon which Jesus was crucified.

This place has religious significance as Moses was here surveying what he called The Promised Land. There is a wonderful view and tribute statue here.

Visited Jordan essentially for 4 main attractions - Petra, Mount Nebo, Baptism Site of Jesus and Dead Sea Floating .

Visiting Mount Nebo attained one of the goals and it did not disappoint . It was 3JOD to access the site without/with the Jordan Pass. The place to me was worth the admission fees for the upkeep of the site, the well maintained churches as well as relics. Certainly a worthwhile place visit to pay respect to.

During our journey through Jordan, we visited also the Mount Nebo. It is a very nice quiet place, very clean and well arranged. If you are traveling to Jordan, it is worth to see it. The church is also very nicely reconstructed so you can see the entire past of the place. You can buy there some souvenirs also.

Up a hill is where Moses viewed the Promised Land. A special monument erected as one walks to the peak of the rise. A viewing platform to see the vast expanse of rolling hills.

Interesting & detailed ancient Christian mosaics. Viewpoint with a good panoramic view towards Israel, but unfortunately conditions were hazy when I visited. Not part of Jordan Pass, but entry cost is minimal. Obviously of great religious significance to some as the place where supposedly God showed Moses the Promised Land, which I can't help thinking was a historical prelude to today's current conflicts.

We got here just before it closed which was a great time to experience the peacefulness of the location. The views were stunning and even better with the sunsetting.
