Very nice little church right on top of the mountain with some old mosaics which have been restored for viewing, but the best part is the view over the whole area, including the Dead Sea, River Jordan and Israel. Very peaceful setting overall. Maybe we were lucky that it wasn't crowded, as crowds would have made it much less enjoyable.

Run by monks this area has recently been tastefully restored and the mosaic’s preserved for all to see and enjoy. It is rumored this is where Moses sat looking out over the plain. If he did he saw great views, panoramic over the Dead Sea, the River Jordan and beyond. Well worth a visit. History has just got interesting. Mount... More

This is a must visit (and I can not believe that we were almost going to miss it). It has a breathtaking view of the promised land. The restored mosaic work was impeccably done. I loved that area that displayed the mosaic work ~ natural light. The place feels alive a new somehow, with so much energy!

50 minutes from Amman.10 km away from madaba town. 2 JOD entrance fee. Very important historical hill having a very nice view and a small church inside a museum. It is a Christian historical place that worth visiting. Recommended to visit and enjoy the history and the breathtaking view of the Christian holly land from the top...

You can get a feel for what it was that Moses saw as he looked into the promised land. Very nice new church with mosaics too.

Little off the track. Great point on top of the mountain. The restored mosaics both inside and outside the church are really interesting. Standing where Moses saw the promised land was great. Not part of Jordan Pass so JOD 2 per person. Recommended.

Laid around 800-meters above the sea, this sacred place has breathtaking view. Only 10-km north of Madaba, it is described in Bible as the place where Moses overlooked promised land by God to Israel tribes. There is museum, small chapel, and rounded door to closed the gate, Abu Badd. Must visit place from Madaba before you go to Bethanny, Dead... More

A beautiful place with Biblical history about Moses. Breathtaking views of the valley and very calm and serene place. A must visit for someone following Christian religious historical sites in the world.

Mount Nebo is positioned esentially en route between Amman and the Dead Sea, and is an easy place to spend an hour exploring the same mountain Moses once did as he was shown the "promised land." Views on a sunny day were spectacular and it was easy to see the Dead Sea and even into Israel. There is a nice... More

This place just opened the new church which is on top of the old ruins . It is very nicely done . I liked how the incorporated the old ruins, mosaics and made work so it can be church and a tourist attraction. It has also a small museum on the side of church . Pretty good parking and bathrooms.... More
