Rich on history, nice atmosphere, very clean, great view on the skyline and the ocean. Big parking in front, no admission, nice breeze from the sea

Lot of research carried out on digging the past. Well preserved fort. More interesting is the Museum and the view of the fort at night from the Cafe.

A very well preserved site and so nice to visit some of the countries heritage. You can do an audio tour of the fort but I didn't avail of this as I didn't have time. There is no admission fee. Wouldn't be suitable to get...More

A very interesting site, with plenty to look at. I didn’t do the audio tour as we had limited time and it was particularly hot, but I would Be tempted to go back and do it in the future.

This is a must see visit but be prepared to walk and climb it's not a place that's suitable for those with a walking disability. The history is amazing and just so much to take in

It's a nice place to visit since there were not too many tourist attractions in Bahrain. GPS was very useful in locating this place, even though it's just a few miles away from The World Trade Center and Moda Mall. There were no tour guides,...More

This is a must visit while being in Bahrain. As recommended by other travelers we went after 5 PM right around sunset time in September. Around that time and early evening is when the fort really comes to life. Although other travelers complain about transportation,...More

I like to go this place in the afternoons say at 4.30 pm just to see the old fort where the history tells that the Portuguese have fought with the Bahrainis in this place. Old ruins still remain preserved. After a walk down and up...More

On the inside, the Fort has such a serene and calming feel to it, and it is stunning to say the least. It helps that it has been excellently maintained. You can also go here for a jog/walk around the Fort; in the evening, this...More

not to sure where the diplomatic area is, but very poor public transport. you can take bus number 5 from Manama, then walk half an hour to the site. The fort is also easy to reach via car; it’s a 10-minute drive from central... More

I too am unable to say yes with any confidence! I can say I didn't see any staff while on my tour, and horses were risen around the area openly! I can't see why not as long as owners are respectful with dog waste... I have... More
