Best time to visit the mountain would be during Dec-early feb when there will be snow all over. If you want to go hiking there is a separate route but for others we can get a rope car pass at the foothills itself for 3,50,000 IRR (all stages). Advise is to reach the foothill around 8am. The whole journey would... More

On top of the mountains in Tehran at 4000m elevation, there is this amazing hotel and skiing resort that is perfect for a day trip. Even if you are not into skiing just taking the cabin ride up is truly stunning, bit make sure you do go on a day that Tehran is not polluted ( which is almost never)... More

I go there on Friday and there is a long queue for the cable car. But if u buy the ticket to ski station ($650000), u can take another queue which is shorter (though both use the same cable car). There is ski rental up there ($800000) but I can not find the perfect boot size and have to settle... More

Take metro to Tajrish Station and then take a local savari that cost about 30,000 Rials. Cost 650,000 Rials for cable car ride up and ski lifts if you want to ski on top station 7. Rent the ski and equipment before you take the cable car. Rental shop is below the cable car at station 1. I did not... More

Really worth a day trip from Tehran. After experiencing air pollution in Tehran, Tochal really refreshing. Popular with local on Friday. We visit on Sunday which is not quite crowd there. Enjoying playing with snow and the mountain view. Tips : just beware of altitude sickness if you climb to station 7, its quite high.

Do not think lightly about hiking up to the summit of Tochal (just under 4000m) in mid December. The elevation difference between the first telecabin station and the summit is approximately 2100m. It took me 5 and a half hours to get to the top. Above 3100m there was a considerable amount of snow. You sink into it which makes... More

I was walking from Darband to the cable car station no. 5. It is very beautiful and there are many people on the trail. It is very good weather in November.

Tochal Mountain of Tehran is in the Alborz range with a ski resort adjacent to metropolitan Tehran. The mountain has a 12 km long ridgeline. The highest peak, also called Mount Tochal, is at an elevation of 3,933 m (13,005 feet). The ridge line is a popular recreational region for Tehran's residents. A gondola lift, named Tochal Telecabin, runs from... More
