First and foremost, you need to know that this is a PRIVATE museum with more than 35K of items?! There are 2 locations: Museum of Calligraphy (which is still on my to-do list) and the museum at Tareq's private residence. This is the one the...More

This is a private museum that the family managed to save during the Iraq invasion. Invaluable Arabic calligraphy collection. The Indian musical instrument collection is amazing. Browse through. Lots to see and experience. Displayed with love and a dream realized. Its also free. Must visit...More

I have been wanting to visit this museum for many years, over 25 years to be precise I was not disappointed and loved being there I only wish there was more to read about the collection than a basic main fact on a collection rather...More

A private collection underneath a residential home, but the way of representation is impressive. It's a private collection underneath a residential home. Entry fee is 2 KD and its not a big one, no wheelchair access. It focuses on Islamic calligraphy and exhibits.

A private collection underneath a residential home, but really one of the best I have seen anywhere. No wheelchair access and not suitable for young children - wall to wall glass display cabinets of precious items.

I was the only one there at the time. They had to turn the lights on for me. It's a large collection from all over Asia as well as the Middle East. But don't miss the Calligraphic collection around the corner!

There are two museums under the same 'brand'. One of the focuses on Islamic calligraphy (principally Qur'ans) and the other has a much wider selection of exhibits. They are within walking distance of each other. Entry is a couple of dinars for each one (if...More

It is a bit dated, and very crowded, but you will never see as many Arab and Islamic artifacts in one place. If really into jewelry or swords or textiles, you could spend all day here.
