Plenty of clothes shopping and souvenirs everywhere. Traffic is chaotic though but luckily most places are within walking distance. If you want to get a taxi you should agree on a price before you get in unless you don't care what you pay because the taxi drivers don't use their meters any more.

Damascus is where your heart belongs, It's just sad I had to leave it for a long time, this city is really full of history that can take you thousands of years back. damascus is an old city full of history .old mosques , old nice streets to walk in , monuments , very old roman columns , churches , cafes .n restaurants where u can taste the best tender and good meat ever . sweets in Damascus are also so good to taste . prices are so affordables . hotels are clean... An amazing city, the Ummayed mosque, Bibi Roquya, Hazarat Yahya(John the baptis), Roman colums, Souq, Cafes & many religions sites for both Muslin & christians. Damascus has a fantastic old city and some very pleasant modern parts. The old city is great for wandering through and the Great Mosque (open to visitors, photography) is so impressive.
