60-70km away from the Punta del Este area this winery is worth a visit even for one who is not a wine connoisseur. Wonderful location, beautiful architecture and decor, great service and very very good food more than justifies the trip. If you have the time they have guided tours, ballon rides as additional attractions.

Made out of stones taken from the same place, it offers outstanding sights, cool tours (inside the factory and outside through the crops). Exquisite and refined. Excellent olive oil tasting offer, accompanied with some of their wines too.

We were so impressed by the new bodega and the grounds at Garzon. Everyone was talking about it so we made sure to make the 90 minute drive from Punta del Este to check it out. We scheduled the videria tour which is seasonal. The tour takes you out into the vineyard and teaches you how to harvest the grapes. Then, following a tour of the production facilities that includes a few tastes, you get to taste even more in a private tasting room in the bodega. Our group was fun and we walked away feeling like our time and money was well spent.

The answer to that question is a big YES.However,to do so one would have to travel to the Southern Hemisphere to a somewhat hidden place in a location away from any busy city and discover a site of rolling hills where vines, olive and almond trees enjoy a luminous sky and ocean breezes. Then, after taking in such a gorgeous sight,on top of a hill sits a modern and breath taking building :Bodega de Garzon. Not to be miss before of after lunch is a tour of the Bodega conducted by knowledgeable local young people who is obvious that they are profoundly proud of what they do and eager to introduce visitors to the state of the art of wine making. What about lunch.? The standard vocabulary may not have enough words to describe what could have, probably, been one of the greatest gastronomic experiences of a trip. Cannot go into details:suffice to say that the environment, the dinning room with huge windows overlooking the hills and any of the dishes in the 3 standard menus were exquisite in taste and presentation.Last but not least the service was equal if not better then any other star restaurant anywhere in the world. So,get yourself to the Southern Hemisphere and discover a hidden gem in a country by the name of Uruguay, a summer resort like no other: Punta del Este and find Bodega Garzon.
