This is an old colonial house that was very important in Colombia's fight for independence. It is located on the corner of Bolivar Plaza and the entry fee is very reasonable. The house was restored from a derelict condition, but the interior is laid out as hands-on museum, and there are no original fixtures or fittings. There is some information... More

very interactive and self-explicative. If you could take a tour with a person who know very well the history of the place is going to be better.

Very small ,but very special museum. The museum on it's own doesn't have much to show and is limited in space because it's located in a colonial house right on the corner of Bogota's plaza Bolivar. DO ask for the free guided tour as it will make your visit complete. The guide will involve you in the presentation and interact... More

This tiny museum is easily visited being just on the corner of the Plaza de Bolívar. The entrance fee of 3000 pesos is good value for a wander around for about an hour or so. Most of the exhibits are in spanish but you get a fair ideal what is being explained if you have a small grasp of spanish... More

Strange little museum. It did not follow any particular order and although there were a few interesting displays (including one relating to the M-19 siege of the supreme court building several years ago), on the whole this was not well laid out and did not explain well the historical significance as the birthplace of the independence from Spain.

A nice smaller museum that is worth a spin through. Right off the Plaza Bolivar in the heart of the other tourist attractions in Bogotá. This museum has a little bit of everything recounting history of Bogotá and the showpiece flower vase. Exhibits discuss the various roles the building has played in the cities history. The building itself, gardens, and... More

A slightly eclectic historical museum. Mostly it focuses on colonial times and the role the building played in Colombian independence. But there is also a section on the events of 1985 when the M-19 guerrilla group took over the Supreme Court Building across the street. There is also a little garden (with hammocks!) behind the building. It's a peaceful place... More

Every Wednesday at 3 pm a guided visit in English is available. The tour takes you back in the history of Colombia until the current situation of the peace process. A must to understand Colombia.
