A nice low key neighborhood with character that is home to many nice restaurants, good nightlife near the center of Bogota.

La Macarena really is an unique neighbourhood in Bogotá. It is more uphill which means that it is an escape of the turbulence of the Bogotá city centre. It is bohemian, with beautiful housed. It is a place that will take you back in history.

Cute area with lots of art galleries and good food options around. Accessible to the city centre and near a couple of lovely parks and other attractions.

A beautiful place with artesian style buildings, cafes and international and local restaurants. For local cuisine, I recommend a visit to La Abuela. It is an easy walk back to the central city via La Plaza de Torros. They other restaurants in this area also have an impeccable reputation.

Many restaurants and cafes not all are great but many most certainly are excellent. I thoroughly recommend many visits to sample everything that is there.

If you are a foodie, you need to go there. All types of cuisines are found there. Plus, you get some lovely pictures (and some exercise) on the hill.

You definitely will not go hungry in the La Macarena area! There are plenty of restaurants and even a grocery store to get food in this neighborhood. This was the first place that I visited once I arrived in Bogota after checking into my hotel. Unfortunately, since I have several food allergies, there is not much for me to safely... More
