Well worth the 15 to 20 mins walk from stabrock market to visit Guyana beautiful wooden church. Hopefully next Feb when I return the renovation will be over and I can go inside. But I really enjoy looking at it from outside must do activities

We went to see this building, as we were told that it was the tallest wood church in the Americas. However when we got there we could only walk around it as it was closed for restorations; very disappointing.

Major renovation going on. Unable to see the inside. Still looked impressive from outside as the world's tallest wooden building.

All wooden construction and thankfully not forgotten as undergoing extensive maintenance while I was there, hence couldn't go inside

Although the cathedral is undergoing renovation, it is certainly worth a visit. Stained glass windows, a beautifully carved Angel holds the baptismal font and a interesting gate in front of the altar are important items to note.

We stopped for a quick visit. Free and if you like visiting older churches, a nice stop. Church is largest constructed one. Unfortunately a little in disrepair. They are working on it but will take much more. It has a quaint atmosphere. Ladies inside were...More
