This is one of the most iconic images of Asunción and you should see it both in the day and at night for different views. You can get some great views from the sidewalk in front - just stay off the grass as that is the one thing the guards don't permit. You can also get some great views from... More

Visited Asuncion in Feb 2017, will never go back, robbed for money at every opportunity, corrupt filthy police. 1st experience, I was driving in a queue of traffic and the police officer singled me out for speeding, despite a car in front and a car behind. 2nd time, at the bridge to leave Asuncion, again in a queue of traffic,... It is a very beautiful building where you can see a green garden and the guards of the government. It's a historical place!

It's a nice place to stop during the day, but especially all lit up in different colors at night. I don't think anyone is allowed to go on the grounds or inside. Lots of police.
