The world’s only underwater post office lets you buy a waterproof postcard on land, fill it out and dive into the ocean to mail it, and you don't even need diving experience.

How great it was to swim and dive to post postal cards ! When this underwater post office is closed, another little underwater bird house next to it is there to post them. Just great, surrounded by the tropical fishes and creatures. Diving equipment for...More

This is a unique experience. And, if you are like me and can't dive deep enough, one of the friendly locals will post it for you. But if you wait until low tide then you should have no problems with with buoyancy. I am just...More

We had a great time on Hideaway and the snorkeling was fantastic but we found the underwater post office quite underwhelming

For roughly $5-6 AUD it is definitely worth doing! You will probably never get another chance to mail a postcard underwater so why not do it.

The snorkeling is amazing and the swim down to the underwater post office (about a metre and a half) is easy and not too strenuous. You buy a laminated post card from the gift shop and swim down to the post office which is about...More

Unfortunately I couldn't dive down far enough to post a postcard but luckily my fiancé could get down to post it for me. If you go at low tide most people should be able to get down to it though. It was a fun experience.

I've read other people have found other island with better snorkelling/clearer water. We're only docking into Port Villa for one day so I want to pick the best snorkelling spot. Where do you recommend?

If you have time to do a round of the island there are lots of little beaches and coves with clear water and beautiful fish. Hideaway is lovely and a good choice as it is not too far to travel.
How much does it cost

Its $15 to go to hide away island thats were it is than a few dollars to get a postcard that can go into the under water post box itself
