Mele Cascades Waterfalls is one of Efate's most popular natural attractions. Only 20 minutes drive out of town, a visit can be completed in just over two hours. There are bathroom facilities available , sitting area, a small cafe and bar on site for purchase of food and drinks. The area is local owned and run by locals. Revenue generated help pay wages for local employees, maintenance and upkeep of the area, community development for surrounding villages and sponsorship of social activities, most especially soccer development programs for youth. Note: Efate is currently experiencing severe El Nino and the once picturesque attraction has very low water levels. This is also causing drastic water supply shortage to villages and its people. To close the business would mean loss of income for many.

Following cyclone Cook the Cascades waterfalls put on an awesome display with water thundering over them. Lots of beautiful swimming holes and smaller waterfalls accessed by a short scenic walking track through lush rainforest. Highly recommended.

We went out to the Mele Cascades in a bus. Paid the admission fee and took our time walking to the top waterfall. We were told the Cascades have been dry until the recent cyclone. We had a little rain whilst out visiting and the increase in the water was amazing. We climbed right up to the top waterfall. Stunning... More

The waterfall was superb when we visited, exciting to see, and great to swim in the waterfall pools. A little more exciting than we anticipated due to all the recent rain, which added to the fun.

One of the highlights of our family trip to Vanuatu! The Mele Cascades are thundering down! Just stunning! Our kids 13 and 11 loved jumping off the rocks into the flowing pools below. The water is stunningly clear and so cool and refreshing. Well worth the walk to the top!

LouLou & Benny from Evergreen Tours made sure the day was action packed, interesting & eye-opening. The marketplace where LouLou bought our refreshments for the day was interesting. Cascades waterfall was spectacular & wonderfully refreshing to walk up to & swim in. Ate our tropical fruit lunch & fresh peanuts in the picnic shelter by the river. From there a... More

Breath taking, cool water "not cold" and countless natural pools to swim in. The most important thing about this place (it was not crawling with tourists)

The upside of going on vacation when it rains the whole is that waterfalls flow, this was a wonderful experience, wwe were told that there hadn't been much water but this was great

This was spectacular with the extra water after Cyclone Cook. Easy walk to the waterfall with lots of pools to swim in.
