The Circular Train of Yangon is becoming increasingly popular with tourists maybe because it provides them with the opportunity to see for themselves how the outdated train system is working or not working; how the local people still need to be educated about using public...More

A great way to see how locals live and the perfect opportunity to see Yangon from an authentic point of view. Cost is 200MMK and takes three hours to do a round trip without getting off the train to explore. Departed from the Yangon Central...More

The Yangon Circular Train is the best way to get around and immerse into the life of Burmese in Yangon. You will get to see beautiful views of paddy fields, small market beside the train station and etc.

We loved this experience , very cheap way to have a look around the city, would recommend doing it on arrival to Yangon

As other reviews have pointed out, this is not a tourist attraction, but an honest and authentic opportunity to experience the lives of the locals. Tickets cost 200 kyats (July 2017) and can be bought at platform 7, although trains might not depart from there....More

I don't think there is a more authentic experience if you are interested in seeing the locals in Yangon getting about their daily lives. This slow-moving train gets through Yangon, and the locals get on and off the train throughout the circular route. Popular stops...More

It costs next to nothing, and the locals are excited to see you. Certainly different from anything I'm used to. The trains are super slow and rickety and take you past a range of neighbourhoods, from somewhat developed to shanty huts, via markets basically on...More

In 2020 the whole train line will be modernised - so enjoy the train ride as long as it is still the old circular train. It's a complete tour around the city for no money (200 KS round trip), people are commuting, women are bringing...More

Da Nyin Gone market. This is a huge market under colourful umbrellas. It mostly sells fresh vege, fruit and meat but also some craft stalls as well. can be smelly and muddy in parts but such a great look into local life.
