Stayed at Garden Hotel near train line and used the train to explore Yangon, Mulieman Pagoda and Fish Markets were highlights. Watching the watermelon seller cut and serve whilst the train bounced along, plus carry the slices on a bowl on her head was amazing

If you have a half day to spend, I highly recommend taking the local circular train around Yangon and surrounding areas. It is a rotating cast of characters getting on and off stations with vendors walking back and forth selling snacks, gadget, cooked foods, water,...More

The train trip offers great people watching and is a good way to just sit back and take in the energy of Yangon.

The ride itself to go round the whole track takes about 3 hours and costs 200 mmk, just stay seated and look at all the people getting on and off the train. Lots of streetvendors jump on to sell their products. Just enjoy the ride

Riding the suburban train is somewhat overrated. When seated you don’t see a lot as the window is split and very dirty. To take pictures it’s better to stand at the doorless entrances and try not falling out of the train. Tracks are in real...More

Had the possibility to do a round trip and spend three hours in „another world“ for 200 kyat. It is a way to see Rangoon from another side. It is not too confortable but the pictures passing through make time passing fast. Non aircon coaches...More

I honestly couldn't believe my eyes when I read some of the latest reviews about the ride. I believe those who expected spotlessly clean,  air-conditioned and rose scented ride on a train with flawlessly breathtaking vistas à la Swiss Alps should aim for Singapore or...More

In the morning as it’s not so hot. We did it around 9AM once it got a few stops away from Yangon there was only a handful of people on it! Have a great time in Yangon.
