One of the main tourist attractions in Yangon. Worth a visit for local souvenirs. Things are a little over-priced and haggling was difficult, we only managed to get around 10% discount generally. Thus did not buy as much! Non air-conditioned and comprise of stalls and shops.

What a sensational market. Very clean, full of interesting and beautiful items ranging from jewelry to clothing to antiques. There are also food merchants in an allocated area. Brought home some delightful roasted coffee beans as well as some textiles. More than anything, brought back some wonderful memories as well as some pictures. As the first client of the morning... Can't believe how big it is. If you like dress making, there is stall after stall of the most beautiful material in stunning colours. Well worth a visit, lots to see. Jewels, clothes, food, so much to see.

The market is an amazing place if you want to pick up some, gifts or souvenirs and bartering is the order of the day. There are literally hundreds of stalls, mostly undercover to browse around. If you are looking for materials, the choice is endless and a very good price. We had lunch here, which was absolutely wonderful and very... More

A great place to look for local craft, gemstones, textiles, and the like. Only open till 5 p.m. and closed on Mondays. Check customs restrictions before buying antiques, jewellery etc. Bargain!

Good if you want to buy / look at jewlery, textile or paintings, and it's a clean and ordonnate market. But not very interesting otherwise (for me) !

Very touristy, but I suppose that's to be expected. The variety of goods is not as wide as I've seen at other major markets throughout SE Asia, but I will admit it's large. One thing I did find fascinating was the area devoted to sewing, where dozens of women were at sewing machines fabricating clothing and decorative silks that I... More

Not much to say- you can buy nearly everything there.. But there is no Charme- we have seen better markets at the inlay lake or Even in kalaw. Very Touristic and expensive.

If you want to buy souvenirs in Yangon, this is the place to go. Pretty much anything you can think of is available here. Inexpensive jade (the industrial kind), amber, tiger eye stones, etc... For real gem quality jewelry, I would recommend the Gems Museum. The best values at the market may be in wood articrafts. You can pick up... More
