In a land filled with beautiful large and small pagodas, this one will create a lasting memory. The pagoda is nice enough, but the boat ride over and back, mostly with local people, makes the visit unique. There is so much to see in Yangon, but if you want to get off the tourist treadmill and out of town, and... More

When you travel to Yangon and if you have enough time, you shouldn't miss that one. It is a temple situated in the river. You have to take a boat to arrive there, but the boat trip only for 5 minutes. It is also peaceful and surrounding is a sight to see. You can feed fish on the pagoda. On the way... More

Great place, I do love the atmosphere of taking a boat to small island where the pagoda is, in the middle of the river! Local people making merit, pay respect to the Buddha, wearing traditional clothes, with thanaka on their faces, look stunning!

It is said that the temple is floating in the middle of the river, but it actually sits in a small island that is located in the middle of the river that it seems like it's floating. One has to take a boat from the main land to the middle island. A foreigner is also required to take a bigger... More

This pagoda is located at Kyauk Tan Township and a bit far from Yangon. If you want to visit there you need to take a small boat to get there, most of the small boat are rowing without life jacket. I think that you'll get the life jacket,if you are foreigner. You will see the fishes near pagoda and you can... More

You can take a bus directly from downtown of Yangon to the last terminal (Kyauktan, Kyike Maw Won Yay Lal Pha Ya) is means the Pagoda in middle of water. Actually it is a rocky island where the pagoda is . Take off from bus, there are many restaurant... More

I took the bus at Sule pagoda. It is not easy as the bus line and bus number are in Myanmar languange. In this case, the photo helped me dearly. It took about 2 hrs. and 700Kts.to reach the ferry pier. There will be plenty of food around (personaly it's like canteen). It is a good idea to eat or... More

It took us around 2 hours on bad road from Yangon center. Then a short trip by boat to get the pagoda in middle of creek. Although the Kyauktan is historic place which was 1st built in 3rd century, it is quite small and dirty and made us so disappointed. The pagoda is small with full of people. There are... More
